• En primer lugar, en caso de que todavía haya alguien que no os conoce, ¿quienes forman actualmente Shatter Brain?

• Después de un tiempo, ¿cómo está funcionando vuestro álbum «Pitchfork Justice»?

«Pitchfork Justice» estará disponible en todo el mundo el 1 de mayo a través de Wormwhole Death Records. Hemos lanzado el primer sencillo y video «Talk In Fear», y hemos estado lanzando pequeñas píldoras web que detallan la historia de la banda y la creación del álbum todas las semanas antes del lanzamiento del álbum. Muy pronto se lanzará otro single y video, ¡así que estén atentos!

• ¿Estáis contentos con el trabajo realizado? ¿Se os quedo algo en el tintero?

¡Estamos muy contentos con el resultado del álbum! ¡Trabajar con Jimmy Balderston en Ghostnote Studios aquí en Adelaida fue una gran experiencia y no podemos esperar a que salga el álbum y que todos escuchen los resultados!

• ¿Cómo fue la composición de este álbum? ¿De dónde vienen vuestras ideas?

Para este lanzamiento, queríamos intentar colaborar todos juntos y ver cómo fue. Esto involucró a todos reuniendo todas sus ideas de riffs y todos poniendo sus ideas en riffs, estructura de canciones, etc. Fue un proceso más largo y muy difícil a veces, pero en general tal vez hizo que las canciones en Pitchfork fueran un poco más variadas y mostraran algunos diferentes lados de la banda.

• ¿Cómo crees que la banda ha evolucionado a lo largo de todos estos años? Y después de «Pitchfork Justice», ¿cuál crees que es el próximo paso en vuestra carrera?

Desde nuestros inicios en 2018, siento que hemos explorado continuamente el panorama de los sonidos que nos interesan, ya sea Thrash, Death, Punk, Sludge, Stoner, Hardcore, etc. y hemos tratado de poner todo eso de una manera que sentimos que es cohesiva y única. ¿En cuanto a lo que sigue? Estábamos planeando salir a la carretera mucho este año en apoyo del nuevo álbum, pero obviamente eso está en el aire en este momento. ¡Así que en el futuro previsible promocionaremos el álbum lo mejor que podamos y utilizaremos este tiempo libre para reunir algunos nuevos riffs!

• ¿Cómo definirías vuestro estilo?

¡Diría que somos una banda basada en thrash que adora bailar! Si te gustan los riffs, ¡los tenemos!

• En Australia, ¿teneis las medidas de confinamiento que tenemos en España para el Covid-19?

Aquí abajo tenemos algunas restricciones, pero no tan severas como parece que las teneis allí. Muchas empresas han tenido que cerrar y muchas personas han perdido sus empleos. ¡No más deporte, no más música en vivo!

• Si es así, ¿cómo estáis viviendo como personas y como banda esta situación, ensayos, no poder dar conciertos, etc.?

Afortunadamente para mí todavía puedo trabajar en este momento. Como banda, hemos dejado de ensayar y hemos tenido que cancelar todos nuestros próximos shows planeados. ¡Nos estamos centrando en promocionar el álbum y esperamos que la gente lo disfrute cuando caiga!

• Contadnos proyectos a corto y mediano plazo, o largo plazo.

A corto plazo nos estamos centrando en el álbum. A partir de ahí, no estamos muy seguros, ¡tendremos que esperar y ver! Definitivamente quiero salir a la carretera!

• First of all, in case there is still someone you don’t know, who are we currently forming Shatter Brain?

The members of Shatter Brain are:

• After a while, how is your album «Pitchfork Justice» working?

«Pitchfork Justice» will be out worldwide on May 1 through Wormwhole Death Records.  We have released the first single and video ‘Talk In Fear’, and have been releasing webisodes which detail the history of the band and the making of the album every week in the lead up to the album release. Another single and video will be released very soon, so keep an eye out for that!

• Are you happy with the work done? Or did you have something?

We are very happy with how the album turned out! Working with Jimmy Balderston  at Ghostnote Studios here in Adelaide was a great experience and we can’t wait for the album to be out and for everyone to hear the results!

• How was the composition of this album? Where did your ideas come from?

For this release we wanted to try and collaborate all together and see how that went. This involved everyone bringing all their riff ideas together and everyone putting their two cents in on riffs, song structure etc. I was a longer process and a lot harder at times but overall it perhaps made the songs throughout Pitchfork a little more varied and showcased some different sides of the band.

• How do you think the band has evolved throughout all these years? And after of «Pitchfork Justice», what do you think is the next step in your career?

Since our inception in 2018 I feel that we’ve continually explored the landscape of sounds that interest us, whether is be Thrash, Death, Punk, Sludge, Stoner, Hardcore etc and tried to put all that together in a way that we feel is cohesive and unique. As for what’s next? We were planning to hit the road a lot this year in support of the new album, but obviously that’s all up in the air at the moment. So for the forseeable future we’ll be promoting the album as best we can and using this time off to get some new riffs together!

• How would you define your style?

I would say we are a thrash based band who loves to groove! If you like riffs, we got em!

• In Australia are you having the confinement measures that we are having in Spain for the Covid-19?

Down here we do have some restrictions but not as severe as it sounds like you do there. Lots of businesses have had to shut down and a lot of people have lost their jobs. No more sport, no more live music!

• If so, how are you living as a person and as a band this situation, rehearsals, not being able to give concerts, etc.?

Fortunately for me I can still work at the moment. As a band we have just stopped rehearsing and have had to cancel all of our planned upcoming shows. We are just focusing on promoting the album and hoping that people enjoy it when it drops!

• Tell us about short and medium term or long term projects.

Short term we are focusing on the album. From there we really aren’t too sure, we will have to wait and see! Definitely want to hit the road!
